Providing a home
for the majestic cheetah

Located in the Appalachian Mountains of western North Carolina, the WNC Zoological Sanctuary is playing a vital role in helping to conserve the majestic cheetah species. The sanctuary provides a safe and nurturing home for cheetahs who are too young for breeding or have come to an age where they can no longer be bred. This enables their counterparts at the

Metro Richmond Zoo to narrow its focus on the successful breeding and reintroduction of cheetahs into the wild in Africa. By providing spacious natural habitats and essential care, the WNC Zoological Sanctuary is helping to ensure that these charismatic creatures receive the best possible care and can continue flourishing in our environment.
